tonight i am running away i don't know where i will stay i just want to disappear i'm writing a letter in case you want to remember my name sorry all the ink is smeared father used to say "open the door it's me you're not in trouble please just come out" oh i'm beginning to fade like a worn out summer, the end of a day oh god only know how hard we try god only knows the tears we cry tomorrow means nothing to me that's how i know i should leave anguish in my heart desperate on my knees i don't know what to believe garden of gethsemane willing spirit, weakly flesh sarah used to say "you're not a loser to me you're not a failure please just calm down" oh i'm beginning to fade like a worn out summer, the end of a day oh god only know how hard we try god only knows the tears we cry god only know how hard we try god only knows the tears we cry tonight i am running away i don't know where i will stay anywhere but here desperate on my knees

clock on the wall is it really three? who can i call when i cannot sleep? thief in the night will he rescue me in time? beautiful dawn all the joy you bring i still hum along to the songs you sing when i was young the rising sun was everything now every day is such a waste a dream i can't escape if i could rewind i would nothing here does any good too late to say sorry now wouldn't matter anyhow when i awake if i sing your song will you shake me out like a dirty rug into the day as your melody begins to fade every time i walk outside a nightmare in my face if i could rewind i would nothing here does any good too late to say sorry now wouldn't matter anyhow too late to say sorry now wouldn't matter anyhow

about

the first installment of my upcoming full length, "Lakewood Blvd"

these songs were written during some of my darkest weeks back in april and may. although i felt isolated and alone and very low, i can look back and remember all the friends who showed up for me over the phone or on social media with tremendous love and gratitude. special thanks to a very dear friend, anthony diaz, for taking me in during this time. you pushed me to become a better musician and i truly don't know where i would be without your friendship and kindness. this year has been totally chaotic and really fucking hard for so many. i hope these songs can offer some comfort to those who listen.

sorry was recorded to 2" tape in one evening at Oro Studios in Altadena, CA. i played every instrument and mixed the song. doug miller ran the tape machine and engineered all night after a long day of work at his day job. quinn was there to help facilitate. quinn's been a huge part of bringing these tunes together, and in the process, he has become one of my best friends. anthony came by with his friends and filmed the process. rod was there with his 5 or 6 acoustic instruments helping me tune and get the right sounds. doug calmed me down when i began to panic and offered some really wonderful encouragement. we listened back to the vocal takes, and doug said he enjoyed the "flaws" because they felt human. i couldn't agree more. i did most things in one or two takes and that was a really neat experience.

gethsemane was recorded at New, Improved in Oakland, CA by the one and only greg francis. althea joy sang on the tune and javi torres played drums. we tracked and mixed in two days.

thank you for your support by listening and sharing and maybe even donating. there is so much more to come.
